Industrial Heritage Tour
Duisburg is the steel heart of the Ruhr region - and a central anchor point of the Industrial Heritage Trail. This tour leads to the most impressive monuments: Landscape Park North with its blast furnaces, the power-station tower known as 'the cup', the Rheinpreußen slag heap with its glowing miner's-lamp memorial and the walkable Tiger & Turtle sculpture. Steel, coal and slag heaps
We follow the Industrial Heritage Trail: from the Landscape Park via the harbor and heaps to the walkable rollercoaster as a modern industrial monument.

Landscape Park Duisburg-North
The heart of the tour: the decommissioned Meiderich ironworks. Blast Furnace 5 is walkable, the gasometer serves as a diving site, and climbers use the old ore bunkers. A candidate for industrial-heritage world fame.

The former chimney of the heating plant, affectionately called 'the cup' by locals, stands around 200 meters tall - one of the highest structures in the city and a striking point on the industrial skyline.

On the Rheinpreußen slag heap in Homberg sits 'Das Geleucht' - a walkable, 30-meter-high miner's lamp that glows at night. From the top, a wide view over the Rhine and the Ruhr region.

Tiger & Turtle in the Angerpark
To finish, the walkable rollercoaster on a former landfill heap - a symbol of the transformation from industrial region to landmark. As dusk sets in, the lighting begins.
