Duisburg Town Hall
Duisburg Town Hall was built between 1897 and 1902 in the neo-Renaissance style on the Burgplatz, on the site of the former medieval royal palace. The richly structured building with its tall tower defines the look of the old town and remains the seat of the city administration and the mayor. Inside, the council chamber and historic interiors are impressive. In front of the town hall, archaeological finds and the Mercator monument recall the long history of the Hanseatic city on the Rhine.
