Museum of Culture and City History

The Museum of Culture and City History, in a former mill at the Inner Harbor, tells the more than 1,000-year history of Duisburg. Its centerpiece is the world's most important collection devoted to the universal scholar Gerhard Mercator, with historic globes, maps and instruments. Further departments display Roman and medieval finds, the development of the city as a center of trade and industry, and a numismatic collection. Changing exhibitions and the Mercator Treasure make the museum the cultural-historical heart of the city.
