Duisburg at Night
Duisburg transforms after dark. Landscape Park North is bathed in colored light by the installation of the British artist Jonathan Park - blast furnaces glow blue, red and green. Tiger & Turtle gleams along its rails, and the Geleucht on the Rheinpreußen slag heap casts its glow over the Rhine. In between, the play of lights at the Inner Harbor. A tour for photographers and night owls.

Lights and industry by night
We start with sunset by the water and then move through the illuminated industrial heritage that makes Duisburg so special at night.

Sunset at the Inner Harbor
The early evening begins at the Inner Harbor, when the illuminated warehouses are reflected in the water. A loop around the basin sets the mood for the night.

Dinner at the harbor
Before the light tour, a good dinner at the Inner Harbor - the restaurants by the water offer the ideal fortification.

Light installation at the Landscape Park
The highlight of the night: Jonathan Park's lighting design bathes the old ironworks in surreal colors. Blast furnaces, pipes and bunkers glow in blue, red and green - a walkable light sculpture of world rank.
Tip: The lighting runs daily after dark - bring a tripod for photos.

At night the walkable rollercoaster is lit along its steel rail and floats like a line of light over the Angerpark. From the top, the nocturnal Ruhr region sparkles.

To finish, the red-glowing giant miner's lamp 'Das Geleucht' on the Rheinpreußen slag heap in Homberg - a landmark visible from afar over the nocturnal Rhine.
