The Mercator Hall in the CityPalais on König-Heinrich-Platz is Duisburg's central venue for concerts, congresses and events. Opened in 2007, the auditorium offers excellent acoustics and is the home of the Duisburg Philharmonic. Named after the cartographer Gerhard Mercator, the building brings classical concerts, conferences, shows and guest performances together under one roof. The CityPalais also houses a casino and restaurants and is part of the modern city center.
