University of Duisburg-Essen unveils new hydrogen research center

A research center is being built on the Duisburg campus in Neudorf to advance the energy transition with green hydrogen.

The University of Duisburg-Essen is expanding its research into the energy transition. A new center for hydrogen and energy technologies is being built on the Duisburg campus in Neudorf. Researchers there study the production, storage and industrial use of green hydrogen - a topic of great importance for the structural transformation of the Ruhr region and Duisburg's steel sites. The center cooperates with regional industrial partners. The neighboring Botanical Garden remains open to visitors.
