duisport reports record throughput — Europe's largest inland port keeps growing
The Port of Duisburg recorded a sharp rise in container throughput in the first half of 2026 and is expanding its role as a logistics hub.
The Port of Duisburg, the largest inland port in Europe, reported a record container throughput for the first half of 2026. Port operator duisport attributes the growth above all to the expansion of trimodal transport and new connections along the Silk Road. More than 50,000 people work on the roughly 1,550-hectare site. duisport continues to invest in climate-friendly drives and the digital management of freight flows. A further terminal is scheduled to go into operation in 2027.
