Sechs-Seen-Platte opens its summer season
With bathing, sailing schools and refurbished shoreline paths, Duisburg's largest recreation area in the south kicks off the summer season.
The Sechs-Seen-Platte in Duisburg-Wedau is the city's most popular recreation area. For the 2026 summer season the bathing spots on the Wolfssee open and the sailing and surfing schools resume operation. The city has repaired the shoreline paths and created new rest areas for cyclists. Walking and cycling routes, boat hire and dining surround the six lakes created by gravel extraction. On sunny weekends the area draws several thousand visitors.
