Angerpark & Heinrich-Hildebrand-Höhe
The Angerpark in Wanheim-Angerhausen was created on the site of a former zinc works and a greened spoil tip, the Heinrich-Hildebrand-Höhe. Paths wind up the artificial hill to the widely known Tiger & Turtle sculpture. From the top, the view stretches over southern Duisburg, the Rhine and the spoil tips of the region. With meadows, young woodland and viewpoints, the Angerpark is a successful example of how industrial wasteland becomes green recreational space.
